Black-Ops GPS

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I install the Black-Ops GPS vehicle tracker myself?
Yes. Basic GPS tracking installations are straightforward for users with basic automotive wiring knowledge. For installations involving the Remote Immobilisation Unit (RIU), professional installation is recommended to ensure correct integration with the vehicle’s electrical system. Most auto electricians and mechanics can install the system quickly and safely.
Will the tracker send my vehicles battery flat?
Short answer, yes. If you left the tracker connected to something with a light weight low cca battery like a dirtbike or go-cart it would likely flatten the battery of the vehicle enough to have it not electric start after a period as short as a fortnight. However a normal motorcycle, JetSki or car battery would support the device for likely months without use before it was an issue. We would recommend using a battery maintenance charger like a trickle charger on non frequently used vehicles. This is also the recommendation of many battery manufacturers anyway to prolong the life of the battery.
If I activate the RIU and shutdown the vehicle for no reason can I activate it again straight away?
Yes, you simply click mobilise on the app and within 10 seconds your back online and running.
